The Knowledge Based Bio-Economy towards 2020 conference is organised by the Flemish Department of Economy, Science and Innovation in collaboration with the European Commission.

This conference will be the meeting place for all stakeholders within bio-economy field in Europe. The aim of the conference will first be to analyse the progress made since 2005 in bio-economy field. Second, the conference will look towards the future and provide input for the new vision and action plan of the European Commission for a sustainable and innovative bio-economy.

The first day, 13 September is a side event with conference dinner and the conference will take place on 14 September 2010.
